Day 0 also happens to be Mothers Day so we showered Stacey with gifts and a cup of tea in bed before meeting Granny for breakfast at the Bubble, not a bad breakfast but I probably expected better for £8.95 if I was being brutally honest. Breakfast out of the way and Granny safely on her way to Auntie Joyce’s for a roast dinner and to pick up Nanye West we headed home to start packing. Stacey laid out everything on the bed that needed going in suitcases whilst I sorted out everyones hand luggage. Even I couldn’t quite believe the amount of tech and gadgets that I was planning on taking for a 2 week holiday, luckily I charged most of it the day before.
We left for the airport at 14:30 and got there in just over an hour without a hitch, we followed the directions to our valet parking and left the keys with the chap who was standing around in a high viz jacket that seemed to know what he was talking about, I do wonder whether I will ever see the Quashqai again. Everyone was allocated a suitcase except Stacey who was pushing Flo in the buggy so lucky me got to lug 2 suitcases and a rucksack through to the terminal. We were early by about half an hour so we hung around for a bit until they baggage drop off staff arrived, it turned out to be more like an hour but if the first queue of the holiday was going to make me angry I was in for a long 2 weeks so I took it in my stride and let the kids pretty much run wild in an almost empty airport.
With the bags safely sent off and us all checked in we made the 10 minute walk to our Premier Inn, everything was completely what you’d would expect from a Premier Inn room so after about 2 minutes of bouncing on the beds we went to the “restaurant” for dinner. Dinner was also what you would expect from a Premier Inn “restaurant” but it served a purpose and the staff were excellent. Jacob and Leila did tell me us a fact each though, Jacob’s fact was that Florence Nightingale invented the pie chart and Leila’s fact was that 40% of women don’t wash their hands after visiting the toilet. I’m yet to check whether these are accurate or not but I see no reason for either of them to lie to me about such things so took them at face value
Now back in the room settling down before our flight tomorrow morning, hopefully it wont be as bad as the 9 and a half hours of hell that I’m expecting!
