You can go anywhere in the world and guarantee to see a crude penis scrawled on a wall somewhere…… happy to report that Hungary is no exception. The Shoes on the Danube Bank is a Memorial erected on April 16 2005, in Budapest, Hungary. Conceived by film director Can Togay, he created it on the east bank of the Danube River with sculptor Gyula Pauer [hu] to honour the Jews who were killed by fascist Arrow Cross militiamen in Budapest during World War II. They were ordered to take off their shoes, and were shot at the edge of the water so that their bodies fell into the river and were carried away. It represents their shoes left behind on the bank thefincher 18th February 2020Instagram Leave a Comment Shoes on the Danube Bank [gap size=”20px”] 4 likes

Florence could not have been happier yesterday when her tooth fell out at school….. that was until she got 100 pence under her pillow from the tooth fairy when she woke up this morning! We now have a 14 year old!! Not really sure where all those years went but they have been great fun for the most part. I don’t tell him enough but I’m super proud of Jacob and we’re lucky to have him in our lives despite wanting to throttle him sometimes when he gets lippy! thefincher 6th February 2020Instagram Leave a Comment [gap size=”20px”] 15 likes

This is what I’m greeted with when I come up the stairs. I remember the kids not leaving me alone when I got back from work and thinking how I was looking forward to them doing their own thing and me having my time to myself like it used to be before children. Truth is I miss it already and the worst part is that it’s not going to change. I’m grateful that Florence’s door is still open though and definitely take it for granted less than I did with the other two. Enjoy it while it lasts people thefincher 17th January 2020Instagram Leave a Comment [gap size=”20px”] 16 likes
